Stud Male Feature
Jul 31st, 2010, 3:41pm

Hi All,

Just a reminder that we are going to have a STUD MALE FEATURE in the upcoming SPRING NEWSLETTER.  This is going to be free for all financial members.  This is an opportunity for all stud males who are registered on the AABA AAR to be seen by all AABA members and many others.  The only requirements are:

1/   they must be registered on the AABA AAR

2/   have a current photo of the alpaca

3/   the fleece stats from the last shearing season 2009/10

you can include the prices and services provided and any other relevant information - such as prizes/ places won and or outstanding progeny produced, previous (impressive) fleece stats.

We have extended the submission date till Sunday 15th August, 2010.  All submissions must be sent to:   secretary@aaba.com.au
or can be sent by mail to 25 Church Lane, HOBBY'S YARDS  NSW  2795

THERE IS ONLY JUST OVER 2 WEEKS LEFT.  So don't let this opportunity pass as we are only looking at doing this annually, if it proves popular.

We are going to produce this feature in full colour, which will be a bonus for those males of colour.  It will be sent to all members who have opted for the postage newsletter and electronically to those who have chosen this option.  They will also be sent to all new members in their new member pack when they join up in the coming year.  We will also be making them available when we have stalls at upcoming shows.

This is a fantastic way of showing off those special males in your herd and a wonderful way of promoting your stud.  The details were in the Winter edition of the Newsletter.

So what are you waiting for.  Do your need to have him registered?  Have you sent off his last fleece for testing?  Do you have time to take that photo?  No more time to waste.  Time for action.

Got any questions?  Just email them in or ask here on the forum.

Cheers

Janet, Just an idea, what about a seperate class for potential stud males in this.   I have three up and coming ones but am not certifying them yet as we are winding down, doing no more matings and they are for sale.    Perhaps there is a reason why not but just thought I would broach the subject ???????     Joy.  What do others think.???????????????

Hi Joy,

Don't forget that the AABA does not have a certification for stud males at this time.  This is open to all males.  The only requirements are that they appear on the AABA AAR - they have the shearing fleece stats for the last season of 2009/10 and you provide a nice photo.

The AABA are currently looking at certification of males and there are whole threads dedicated to the subject.  Members are free to express their opinions and contributions on these thread.

I am looking forward to seeing your boys.  Remember they must be registered on the AAR.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

Cheers
