Hello: I must use this forum more!  I must.  But what I'd like to be able to do is to do a search that allows me to create a list of the latest postings (within the last week, month - however long since I last visited).  It doesn't seem possible to do that without a search term included.  I'm not after anything in particular, I'd just like to keep up with the latest posts.  Would it be possible for a shortcut key to be included in the search menu satisfying this requirement?

I have been regularly using the "10 most recent posts" button as this is the only way I have found to look at recent posts, other than scanning down the forum listings which isn't very practical. This works okay when not much is happening, but when there is a flurry, say on one topic like today, then I potentially miss other recent posts since I last checked.
 
Does the forum software have any unused functionality in this regards? Would changing the "last 10" to a larger default number be easy & helpful in this regard, yet still not fail safe in missing posts?
